Ordway is located in Albany, the Capital and center for government of New York State. Located in New York’s Tech Valley, Ordway Research Institute offers an excellent locale for raising families.

There are 21 institutions of higher learning located in the Capital Region including Union College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Siena College, Skidmore College, and the University at Albany. The area also has 15 licensed proprietary schools that provide training in a variety of fields.

Albany is two and a half hours from New York City; three hours from Boston and three and a half hours from Montreal, Canada. The Adirondack Mountains are one hour to the north; Catskill Mountains one hour to the south; and historic Saratoga Springs with its racetrack and natural springs is 45 minutes to the north. Saratoga is also home to Saratoga Performing Arts Center, summer home of the New York City Ballet and Philadelphia Orchestra, and an annual diverse program of popular and rock concerts. For those who prefer to enjoy the Boston Symphony, we are less than one hour from Tanglewood in Lenox, Massachusetts.
